A mathematician, Lorenzo studied first in Milan and then at the Scuola Normale in Pisa (specialist degree and postgraduate studies).
In late 2013 he founded, with Adriano Guarnieri, Aranea srls; their first project was TwoReads, which suggests reading materials by mapping the connections between books referenced in bibliographies.
Tworeads received an award for best business initiative at the 2014 Frankfurt Book Fair. After a couple of pivots, the firm now offers libricity, a website and smartphone app which can search for books and find out where they can be bought.
Lorenzo is a committee member at the Wikimedia Foundation (the non-profit organisation which supports Wikipedia), involved in evaluating funding requests for annual projects, and for the past two years has been on the board of directors at Wikimedia Italia.
