Freelance journalist and blogger, I have been online since 1999. I am obsesses by digital media and the Internet as an engine for social change. When I am not running, I can be found on Twitter as @dontyna.
I am currently social media editor for Volontari per lo Sviluppo Volunteers for Development and the side project ONG 2.0. I work as a freelancer with several Italian journals (among them Vita, Wired Italia, Stream Magazine and Nova24) recounting stories of social innovation that I came to know about as a result of my trips to sub-Saharan Africa, where I often went to run courses in citizen journalism and on the use of the new media for non profit purposes. For Volontari per lo Sviluppo I have also carried out research on social-networking applied to international cooperation, the results of which were published in the ebook “Ong 2.0 – Strumenti e strategie social per il non profit” “ONG 2.0 – Social tools and Strategies Not for Profit”.
For some time now I have been releasing the “nerd within me” by collaborating on various projects of data journalism and data visualisation.
