Born in Milan in 1966, Cesare graduated in electronic engineering at the Politecnico University of Milan and completed a Masters at CEFRIEL.
He has worked for Cisco Systems Italia since 1991, and has contributed to the firm’s European success. In 1995 he joined Ascend Communications, a Silicon Valley startup: in 1995 Ascend was acquired by Lucent for 24 billion dollars. His experience at Ascend (and Lucent Technologies) is also the key to establishing and consolidating relations with Venture Capital companies.
In 2009 Sironi was appointed CEO of Matrix (Telecom Italia, later ItaliaOnLine), where he was responsible for launching local divisions and introducing a series of innovative services for the world of media and advertising. Since 2010 he has been Head of Strategy and Innovation for Telecom Italia. He has also been on the board of the Chief Strategy Officer Group at GSMA and the Advisory Board for Innovation at IREN.
