Cacciamani, Carlo, born in Ancona on 1958, has a degree in Physics from the University of Bologna. Since July 2008 is the Director of IdroMeteoClima of ARPA Emilia Romagna (ARPA-SIMC). He has over twenty years of experience in climate studies on a regional scale and is an expert in weather forecasting ate short and medium range and mesoscale climatology. In the past he has developed models of regionalization of climate at local area by means of dynamic-statistic methods.
He was responsible for ARPA-SIMC projects funded by the European Union on issues such as climate and related to the drought in the Mediterranean area. He has participated in various schools and conferences and also worked as a lecturer for the University of Bologna, Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences, in the academic years 1997-98, 1998-99, 1999-2000 and more recently in the years 2002-2003 and 2003-2004, as part of the Master of Applied Meteorology, playing the course on “Weather and Nowcasting.”
He has participated in numerous conferences / seminars / workshops presenting the activities in the field of climate change at local scale and local weather forecasting. As additional professional experience has also been part of several working groups within the framework of international programs of research and monitoring weather and climate, and ultimately the author of nearly one hundred publications overall, many of them in international journals.
