Fabrication technology in design should be subordinate to the project, which must take it into account without letting it appear blatant. For designers today it is important to think glocally, and to design products that can be outsourced and manufactured in universal workshops, yet that retain a strong aesthetic identity, also linked to local culture. We will put this into practice in the laboratory, with Slow-D and a major Chinese designer.
