Music and space, Music and time, Music and technology. Dialectic relations in a constantly-evolving journey that starts with humans and their relationship with the world, and returns full circle. A journey backwards, away from the esoteric sounds of dream pop and towards the density of break beats, via dubstep, in a free fall from the unearthly and futuristic sound of Dream Koala to the contemporary tension sought by Koreless. A return to the turntable, condensed into the performance of an artist who for 25 years has been a reference point for anyone venturing into electronic music, DJ Food. The Leopolda Station thus becomes a musical time machine which takes us from dreamed future to lived past, through the differing ways of shaping the musical space of two conflicting generations.
Dream Koala, despite being only 19, is a complete and eclectic artist: an extraordinarily talented songwriter, producer, musician and singer, he can hypnotise and vibrate within a space using only a guitar and an SP-404 sampler.
From post-dubstep to one of the contemporary electronic scene’s most intimate sounds, Koreless’ music is a journey of discovery of the unknown. An artist already considered “big”, despite his mere 24 years.
DJ Food, a long-time member of Ninja Tune (where he is chief designer) is without doubt one of the true pioneers in the art of the DJ, with his unique mix of dub, trip hop, techno, ambient and jungle.
