Honsell

He was born in Genoa in 1958 and graduated in Mathematics at the “Scuola Normale Superiore” in Pisa. He has teached Computer Science at the Universities of Turin, Edinburgh, Udine, Stanford and Paris.

In Udine he has been Rector of the University from 2001 to 2008, president of the science and technology park and mayor since 2008, supported by a center-left coalition. He is the president of the national organization “Giona, Citta’ in Gioco” and, since 2010, vice-president of the “Citta’ sane” network, an OMS-promoted project. He is the author of “L’algoritmo del parcheggio” (Feltrinelli, 2007), on everyday mathematics, and “Curiosità  e divertimenti con i numeri” (Aboca, 2009), together with Giorgio T. Bagni.
